Dear colleagues,
We are in the process of writing a newsletter on “Geographies of
Masculinities” for the Working Group on Feminist Geographies in
German-speaking countries (AK “Feministische Geographie”). It is our aim
to use this opportunity to introduce as much current research on the
subject as possible and we would like to ask you to contact us, if you
are working on a related issue and would like to be mentioned in the
newsletter. If so, please can you send us:
- the title/topic of your research
- a brief description (ca. 5 sentences)
- your name and contact details (please indicate which of these you
would like to have included in the newsletter)
- relevant publications/references (yours and others)
We would be particularly happy to hear from postgraduate and
undergraduate students. In the German newsletter, it is common practice
to publish brief summaries of undergraduate and postgraduate
dissertations, so if you know of/have written a dissertation on
geographies of masculinities, please get in touch.
Further, you may wish to submit:
- reviews of teaching on masculinities – any suggestions/ideas; specific
examples would be very welcome
- calls for research contacts (esp. if you don’t want to write a summary
of your research)
Alternatively, you could write a short review of current work (books,
journal articles, etc.).
If we have forgotten anything that you think should be included, please
let us know.
Inclusion in the newsletter will give your work publicity in a
German-speaking context and should help you to make contact with
researchers there. We will send you a copy of the completed newsletter
for your own records.
With many thanks for your help.
Best,
Kathrin Horschelmann and Bettina van Hoven
