Dear Lorna,
I believe quite a lot of work has also been done on Teesside. A good
contact is:
Valerie Moody
Education Liaison Officer
Showmens Guild of Great Britain
PO Box 26
Spennymoor
Co Durham
She produced a short Gypsy and travellers information pack called
'Wagon, Tent or Trailer Born', which I can photocopy for you if you
can't get hold of from other routes.
I also have a couple of leaflets from the Society for the Promotion and
Advancement of Romany Culture (SPARC). They are a few years' old, so
may be out of date - but the contact names given on the back are Emily
Clark and Annabel Terrill, 01642 355 584.
I think this has been a fascinating strand on the list. Would you be
willing to summarise your research when you've done, either for the list
or maybe a short piece in SHCG News?
All the best,
Zelda
