Background

We are looking to recruit an Evidence Based Medicine Manager to join an established team of sixteen Outcomes Research and Evidence Based Medicine professionals. The post will be based at the Pfizer UK Offices in Reigate, Surrey.
The Role
As Evidence Based Medicine Manager you will use your technical systematic review, critical appraisal and analytical skills to provide guidance on the development and promotion of Pfizer products. This is a broad and challenging strategic role with activities ranging from contributing to the development of the global clinical trial programs for Pfizer products, to the development of submissions to the National Institute of Clinical Excellence and equivalent organisations in Scotland and Wales. In this role, the post holder will also contribute to the training of medical, marketing and sales colleagues, in the relevance and application of EBM to the pharmaceutical industry. As a team that aspires to be recognised as a centre of excellence in evidence based medicine, you will be expected to contribute to the development and use of EBM methodology in healthcare decision-making.
Qualifications
For this position you will need to have a degree, or equivalent qualification, and possess a postgraduate qualification and training in EBM, or systematic reviews. At least one year's practical experience in EBM, coupled with an understanding of the NHS/Healthcare environment and an awareness of EBM networks are also advantageous. You will have a proven track record of high-quality performance, demonstrating excellent communication skills, analytical, planning and prioritisation skills and the ability to work well with cross-functional groups. Budget and project management skills and the desire for self-development are also important in this role.
