On behalf of the organising committee, we would like to invite you to attend
and participate in the one-day seminar event 'Combining social research
methods, data and analyses.', which will take place on 22 February 2006 and
will be hosted by the Department of Sociology, School of Human Sciences,
University of Surrey. This event is organised by QUALITI, Cardiff node of
the National Centre for Research Methods and is sponsored by the UK Economic
and Social Research Council.
There are a range of issues concerned with understanding and facilitating
data and analytical synthesis between different modes of qualitative data,
as well as between qualitative and quantitative data. Strategies for working
across and between different kinds of qualitative data and analyses are
increasingly required, as the repertoire of qualitative strategies continues
to expand. This day event aims to provide opportunities for participants to
share current practice of methodological combination/integration, and to
consider the research capacity building implications of doing so.
Please see the programme attached or look at our website
http://www.cardiff.ac.uk/socsi/qualiti/Seminar1.html for further details of
conference themes, programme, venue, keynote speakers, and registration details.
The places are limited to 40 and early registration is recommended.
We do hope you will be able to join us. Please forward this message to
anyone else who might like to attend.
Kind regards,
Bethan Charles, Qualiti Administrator
