The FINDOFF documentation for the input file format states:
"If additional columns are present they must be numeric, and there must be
the same number of them in every line. These have no effect on the
calculations, but FINDOFF will propagate them to the corresponding lines
in the output list."
Is there a reason why these additional columns have to be numeric? I'm
trying to use a fourth column as an object ID field so I can tell which
objects were matched by FINDOFF, and given some (most?) SkyCat catalogues
have IDs that aren't numeric, I have to "FINDOFF-ize" these IDs to turn
them into integers, which may turn a unique ID into a non-unique one.
