The ESRC National Centre for Research Methods, National Centre for
E-Social Science and Innogen Centre are organising an event for ESRC
social science week focusing on the challenges, opportunities, barriers
and benefits of interdisciplinary working across the natural and social
sciences in the area of genomics. The event is taking place via the
access grid (a form of video conferencing) with venues at Southampton,
Edinburgh and Manchester. The event will take place on March 14th
10.30-1.00.
Speakers will comprise social and natural scientists. Presentations
will be made by: Dr Catherine Lyall, University of Edinburgh; Dr Claire
Waterton, University of Lancaster and Professor Joanna Chataway, Open
University. Professor Joyce Tait and Dr John Beattie, University of
Edinburgh, will act as discussants for the presentations. The event
will be chaired by Professor Jennifer Mason, University of Manchester.
There will be an opportunity for those attending at the three sites to
contribute to a general discussion of the issues raised.
Anyone with an interest in this topic is invited to attend at any of the
three sites. Please email Jane Schofield on [log in to unmask] if you
