Have B&B's, Guest Houses, Hotels become the 'Community Care dumping
grounds',especially in coastal towns for all disabled people and those
living with mental ill health/distress, instead of implementing our basic
human and civil rights to appropraite NHS and Community Care Services that
meet our needs and is our basic human and civil right to indpendent and
inclusive living?
What about the financial cost to this and the human costs too?
Why also when all disabled people and those living with mental ill
health/distress are put into these inappropriate B&B's, Guest Houses and
Hotels, then why are not the these public-bodes, especialy Councils not
imforming the landlords, managers of these establishments about our
'impairments', then use 'confidentiality' as an 'excuse'.
What happens if something goes wrong as has happened has on numerous
occassions has I have been informed by many owners and managers of these
B&B's, Guest Houses and Hotels where I've been staying over the last year
why I've been unlawfuly 'homeless' and they feel that the 'public-bodies'
are being 'negligence' and I agree with them all.
The public-bodies should inform them and 'risk-assessments' should always be
done and their in a health and saftey issue and all disability
discrimination too, because if the disabled person does not inform the
'service-provider' of the impairments, in which many impairments are
'hidden', then that disabled person has no protection under DDA. Also there
is also 'no' protection of basic human and civil rights for all parties
concerned.
Also the 'owners' of these B&B's, Guest Houses and Hotels are not registered
to cater for all disabled people, under the NHS and Community Care Act and
are 'not polic-checked', under Protection of Vulnerable Adult(POVA).
I want to raise these issues with the Government and all public bodies too
and Members of Parliament.
I also want these to be addressed in the Courts too within my case.
Is this not against our basic human and civil rights as disabled people to
independent and inclusive living?
Yours
Colin Revell
