Irisys ( http://www.irisys.co.uk ) demonstrated one a couple of years
ago (late 2003) which records the tracks of people through its sphere
of vision. It's an infrared system, but seemed quite interesting.
All I remember was that it produced aggregate "traces" of pedestrian
movement.
