Hi, an even quicker one.
As someone who has done exactly that, why not indeed? And I'm certainly not
alone, I know plenty of programmers/engineers/etc. who play the role of the
developer for hire, as well as artist of their own work in other situations
(in some cases the dev work finances the art practice (and rent and food)).
