Hi Anna,
Thanks for pointing this out. I've just checked our access to former Hodder
Arnold titles on Ingenta and we have also suffered some loss of access,
although not to everything transferring to SAGE.
We've lost all access to Cultural Geographies, Multiple Sclerosis,
Palliative Medicine, Statistical Methods in Medical Research and to
1998-2000 content for German History on Ingenta.
One of our subscriptions, Pain Reviews, a publication which ceased at the
end of 2002 still remains under Hodder Arnold, so I am not sure who is going
to take responsibility for this title? What does happen to ceased titles
when publishers take over another publisher's journals? Do they just become
orphaned?
We also retain access to a former Hodder title, now transferred to CUP from
July 2006, Primary Health Care Research and Development on Ingenta.
Again, this loss of access is very worrying during this transition period,
especially as I am sure not all of us have had time to make sure that our
Hodder Arnold titles are all set up now on the SAGE Highwire site.
That prompted me to check the SerialsSolutions database which we use for the
updating of our OPAC and our link resolver. I noted that it is showing
German History ending in October 2003 and Palliative Medicine ending in June
2004 on the SAGE Highwire site even though both these titles are current.
Also at present Cultural Geographies is not listed on SerialsSolutions as a
SAGE title, neither is the previous title, Ecumene, although we received
notification from Highwire that this title was now on Highwire on the 9th
October 2006. Neither is Statistical Methods in Medical Research listed on
SerialsSolutions as a SAGE title, although we also received notification
about this title being on Highwire on the 9th October 2006.
As we had also suffered some access problems with Hodder Arnold titles
earlier in the year, so I had hoped that would be the end of the problems
until the end of 2006. Unfortunately not it seems!
As for our users, I wonder how they are meant to figure all this out!
Cheers
Lesley

Subject: Access to Hodder Arnold titles transferring to Sage
Hi all,
We have currently lost access through Ingenta to those titles which
are transferring to Sage from Hodder Arnold. I have contacted Ingenta
to ask for this to be rectified but just thought I'd let the list
know so that people could check that they aren't in the same boat!
Cheers
Anna
