Hi Anna,
I wish I could, but unfortunately we are in the same position as you.
I used the feedback form on the Highwire site to get the magic number to
activate our access to our one subscribed title, Journal of speech, language
and hearing research. I got a response from Highwire a day later with our
magic number. I was informed at that point that our access was from 1/1/2002
- 12/31/2005. I then activated our subscription on Highwire on the 29/03/06.
I did query why our access didn't include the 2006 subscription year and was
advised to contact ASHA subscription.
I emailed ASHA at: [log in to unmask] on the 30/03/06 and haven't yet
received any reply to that email.
For the record I asked the following questions:
1. why our access didn't include the 2006 subscription year.
2. why our access is showing as beginning from 01/01/02 when the page at:
http://journals.asha.org/subscriptions/cost.dtl says that access to the
archive - defined as 2003 and previous content required purchase of the
archive.
Maybe someone at Highwire could give the publisher a push to get our queries
resolved?
We shouldn't have to continually chase publishers in order to get responses
to our queries.
Cheers
Lesley

Subject: ASHA contact?
Hi all,
As you probably know, ASHA has now made it's journals available to
institutions electronically via HighWire.
I have managed to activate some of our online access using customer
numbers from our agent's online system. However, not all the numbers
are recognised and so I have been unable to activate our full
entitlement. I have repeatedly emailed [log in to unmask] to ask for
the correct customer numbers but have received no reply - not even an
automated "Thanks for your enquiry, we'll get back to you". I have
managed to get a response from someone in the another department at
ASHA but am told that I need to go through the Subscriptions
Department. Has anyone else been able to get a response and do you
have a contact name that could help me?
Many thanks
Anna
