Well I'm still trying to get these sorted out and activated!
Very odd things keep happening and I seem to be going round in circles.
One day, I managed to activate a few titles 'successfully' in the morning, but access then disappeared in the afternoon!
Today, my profile shows a different list of titles to yesterday.
A different span of dates appears today, for some of the titles, from a couple of weeks ago.
Is anyone else having these problems?
If any small publisher is considering moving to Atypon, please consider the difficulties we have in activating our entitled access to these journals.
Thanks very much
Sandra

If I try typing in one of the activation codes I've already submitted it says 'This access token does not appear to be valid'
If I go to http://www.mitpressjournals.org/action/showIdentities it only gives details of one of the codes I've just activated, recognised by what appears as 'institution user'
Your IP address: 144.124.16.33
User Type Description
Computer Identity
IPRange User 144.124.*.*
Institution User UNIV WALES ABERYSTWYTH UserGroup User All ip range users group UserGroup User RegisteredUsers UserGroup User All users group UserGroup User All institution users group
I think I've had enough for today and will note this in my diary for 3rd April to revisit!

For IP addresses, look under the Institutional administration tab when you've just submitted an activation code, see the link:
"Show the IP Ranges" or try:
http://www.mitpressjournals.org/action/showIdentities
Off campus access? I think MIT/Atypon is going to have to answer a lot more questions, but I notice that the "For Librarians" button has a javascript:void(); link too, as do many other links. It really isn't the best interface, yet, is it?
Rush release, anyone?
Dom

Sorry, another question. Does anyone know if there will be any off-campus access?

Thanks Dominic. At least that saved me creating a new username/password for each.
Very intuitive, I'm sure!
Where does it now show you what IP addresses are recorded? I can't find it under any of the tabs.
It looked to me as if it wanted the IP addresses to be keyed in again for each one, but I didn't do this as you said it wasn't necessary, but I would like to check.
None of the links to the journals (or the Librarians tab) seem to work at all.

Hi Sarah
I followed the instructions for my first activation. For subsequent activations I remained logged on, clicked on Access, submitted the access token, and got an error message!
<<Access token was not found. Click here to activate an institutional account.>>
I did as suggested and clicked through, repeated the Institutional account activation process, ie: yes (to the agreement), submit the activation code.
I found that that was all that was necessary.
It wasn't necessary to re-enter IP range(s).
Each time a code is activated, a link is added to the "Profile". Now I just have to find the new URLs...
Best wishes
Dominic Benson

Hi
Have others received emails about MIT Press journals moving from ingenta?
I've just received 6 of these (probably more to follow), detailing a long complicated procedure to activate our subs., consisting of registering, logging in and then activating. Each has a different customer number and appears to require the creation of a different username and password, and repetition of the procedure, for each one.
What a nightmare!
Sandra
