Dear Becka - we are very lucky here at London Met to have a great group
of Maths & IT specialists (that grew out of the Maths & Computing
Departments).
Typically they all have high Maths/IT qualifications - but it is their
inter-personal skills that suit them best for their work: they are all
very student friendly and able to get the most maths phobic people to
develop their mathematical abilities.
They have even developed an intensive one-week maths programme (plus
self-study booklets) and exam that once passed is equivalent to GCSE
grade C maths.
Maths & IT support include:
11 hours per week drop-in maths support
12 hours basic maths course
12 hours basic IT course - followed by IT drop-in support
One-week Maths GCSE equivalence course (TDA recognised).
Best,
Sandra Sinfield
