The 2006 European Information Society Technology Prize :
Winners and Grand Prize Winners to be announced in Vienna (7 March
2006)On 22 March, the awards will be presented in Vienna 2006 by Dr
Heinz Fischer, Federal President of the Republic of Austria, Mrs Viviane
Reding, Member of the European Commission and Mr Hubert Gorbach, Vice
Chancellor of the Republic of Austria. The gala award ceremony will take
place in Vienna's magnificent Hofburg - the imperial palace of the
Habsburgs. The ceremony is organised under the auspices of the European
Commission and the Government of Austria, which holds the Presidency of
the European Union for the first half of 2006. The winners have been
chosen from among the 213 innovative products and applications from 29
countries which competed for this year's Prize.

Enabling the Delivery of Localized Information and Communication
Services 20 March 2006 Sophia Antipolis, FranceThis workshop is
organised by an ETSI Specialist Task Force (STF), set up as part of the
European Commission's goal to eliminate barriers to the access of
services in the European Union. The main goal of this STF is to look at
potential language and cultural barriers and to investigate how
information and communication services can be delivered in a way that is
compatible with the language and cultural preferences of each individual
service user. The workshop will be built around the findings of the STF.
The workshop is free of charge, but registration is required.

grand challenges for FP7.
