Hi Malcolm
Thanks for the advice - I am looking at a few different ways of
providing guest access, and will keep your recommendations in mind
Best wishes
Kathryn

Hi Kathryn,
Your plans sound interesting - do keep the list posted. Be careful what
you do with guest access though. If you disable it, then you lose the
ability to use portal direct entry (where essentially you see any pages
tabs and modules which are visible to users with the role of guest).
Cheers,
Malcolm.

Subject: Creating Guest Acess Accounts
Hi everyone
I am currently looking at guest access options. Rather than enabling
guest access at system level (and the Bb guest account), I'm thinking of
creating a guest account to allow guests to login, but only allowing
them as much access as allowing guest access overall usually allows
(i.e. no access to comms areas etc).
However I notice that while logging in with guest/guest denies access to
the Content Collection, when I create my own guest account (with the
system & institution roles of guest), the Content Collection is
available whether the guest is enrolled on a course or not. I know this
access can be limited by making a tab/module unavailable to the guest
institution role but wondered if this is a usual experience and if there
is any way round it?
Hope this makes sense - thanks for your help!
Best wishes
