Worcestershire Record Office (County Hall branch) building works
Following our annual stocktaking closure period (13th-27th November),
building works will be continuing in Worcestershire Record Office.
From 27th November until 4th December extensive works will be taking place
to the ramp at the front of the County Hall branch of the Record Office
and the toilets in the main foyer in order to bring the Office into line
with Disability Discrimination Legislation. As a result of this there will
be no access via the front door between 27th November and 4th December and
all visitors will have to enter the building via the rear door (opposite
the visitor car park). We hope to have access to the front of the
building from 4th December but potential users are advised to telephone
the office to check the latest situation prior to setting out as the
decision to reopen the front entrance will be guided by health and safety
considerations.
We will be offering a bookings only service to the public so it will be
essential that anyone planning to visit the office telephone to make an
appointment. Potential users should be advised that access to the
searchroom is via a staircase, the public toilets will not be accessible
for the two-week period although they will be able to use the staff toilet
or toilets in main County Hall, and there may be an increased volume of
dust and noise whilst the works are taking place.
We will continue to respond to enquiries by post, email and telephone and
the Worcestershire Library and History Centre will be open as usual.
The office can be contacted on 01905 766351 or via email at
[log in to unmask] for further information, or to book an
appointment.
