Serum creatinine concentration can almost double after a meal of stewed meat and will increase in a proportionate way after meals with varying amounts of meat. Should U&E and eGFR only be performed on a fasting patient? Now there is a study (the trouble is it will take about 6 months to get ethical approval in the UK)
I would not like to be labelled as having Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease simply because I had a lamb curry for lunch.
