This is part of the same old problem of fasting
samples, discussed earlier this month. In these days
of evidence based medicine, (I don't know if this
applies to "laboratory medicine") where is the
evidence for 10-12 hours fasting for a lipid profile?
Would a 10-12 hour fat free fast not be the answer?
The only piece of real evidence I have is that
chylomicrons cause analytical problems. Anybody have
anymore?
