Frank,
Strangely similar results up here in Lanarkshire. I looked at our GP
population in March and found 27% fit into the CKD3-5 group, of these 24%
are in the CKD3 group. It's clear that the population visiting the GPs are a
'sick' population with lower eGFRs that the general population. Thus we're
seeing an increased prevalence, much higher than the prevalence of 9-10%
estimated

Subject: eGFR concern
Sending out eGFR's on all our GP U/E requests has elicited some interesting
GP responses.
Not least is an email from one GP saying he has retrospectively applied our
'175' formula to 3240 of his patients 27% of whom appear to have an
indicated stage 3-5 renal impairment. He further comments that he has a list
size of around 12,600.
Any comments?
