Hello,
One of my clinical colleagues is investigating a man with moderately
deranged lipid and testosterone/gonadotrophin levels. Whilst investigating
other possibilities, there is a feeling that the results are consistent with
taking exogenous steroids. On questioning it transpires that the man works
out in a gym daily, and takes a muscle building product containing
"beta-ecdysterone, 80 mg per serving, 97%". I think this must be
20-beta-hydroxyecdysterone (judging from other product flyers).
Does anyone have any experience of this particular steroid? Does anyone have
a "steroid profile" test available detect it?
Many thanks for your help.
Tony
