Does anyone have a feel for the highest CoHb level likely to be seen in patient with no obvious exposure to CO other than from cigarette smoking (approx. 30/day)? COHb consistently in 12-14% range on 4 occasions now. Domestic gas appliances and car exhaust OK apparently. Patient also has polycythaemia (Hb at diagnosis 19.7, now declining with recurrent venesection) and COPD.
