This is slightly off-topic but I am interested in contacting people
in the vehicle regulation field...
I am assisting with a project that is reviewing the Australian Road
Rules concerning the use of child restraints. Decades ago regulations
were introduced in Australian states to require all child under 12
months of age to be restrained in an approved child restraint (not an
adult seat belt). Older children must at least be in an adult seat belt.
There is useful research supporting the use of child restraints for
as long as possible but limited discussion of the use of regulation
to encourage this.
My colleague, Michael Griffiths, will be contacting known researchers
in the child restraint field. Via RTT, I am interested is hearing
from people involved with regulating child restraint use who might
slip through our net. I am interested in regulations, policy
documents and research reports that consider child age, weight and/or
height and specify types of restraints to be used.
Regards
Michael Paine
