Dear Ranjan
this is not unrelated to Johann's root metaphor of design, and JCJ's 10
question/answers (and Andrew's comments).
the world is in need of a counter-discourse to balance, not replace, the
dominating western discourse. i don't pretend to understand what this really
means, except that's how i feel.
when relating this feeling to design and design research, I believe that
Design Research needs to serve as a counter-discourse.
design discourse itself is also in need of a counter-discourse. and I find
that JCJ is giving us that. and I also think people from the 'developing'
world can give us that. (part of the reason why I get involved in our 2006
project).
we need different and new metaphors for design.
sorry for another 'rant'. - rosan
