Just a note to comment on those possibly unfamiliar with the new (ie large)
CintiQ drawing tablets (www.wacom.com)
Many times the “pencil is the interface”, etc. is bandied about - however -
the paperless technology has come of age.
Let us relegate paper?
Finally - the problem of digital initial creation is not the initial sketch
- its the blatant lack of copyright (ie. its a bitmap).
Drawing on the screen to create virtual artefacts takes design to another
level. 100% virtual.
The problem is how to compare complete virtuality with the real world - at
least for Ph.D research purposes.
If a design process becomes 100% virtual - the robot designer - software or
otherwise - must enter the equation.
Maybe a Japanese (Chinese speaking) digital creation created for the U.S.
Market by the Russian software underground?
Cheers,
