A very good time-line drawn here --it made me choke on my coffee though.
It's also a decent reminder of how fond Mew Media Art is of time-
lines in general and it prompted me to think of a low-fi selection
made a few months back called, 'Broken Histories':

And just for the sake of discussion, the flip side to Andreas' series
of sign posts is of course, that anything can be re-interpreted and
re-visited in relation to New Media. We could add topiary to the
list if we wanted to (some relation to rapid prototyping perhaps ;)
or food hygiene, or dry stone walling or...
