One PhD position is available at the University
of Muenster, Germany, in the Institute of Physical Chemistry.
This project is embedded in the framework of the
center of excellence SFB 458 where many groups
study the motion of mobile ions in materials with
disordered structures from the theoretical and
the experimental perspective. Our own group is
specialized in studying the microscopic
properties of disordered systems mainly via
computer simulations, using a variety of advanced numerical techniques.
The potential energy landscape serves as a
powerful framework used intensively for the
investigation of biopolymers, clusters, and
glasses. In this project we study supercooled
liquids to obtain important information about the
glass transition and the complex behavior in the
molten state. Among others ionic liquids will be analyzed.
Candidates should have a master or diploma degree
in physics, chemistry or materials science and be
highly motivated to work on a theoretical project
in an interdisciplinary research environment. A
good background in statistical physics and
computer simulations is desirable.
We offer excellent research conditions and a
stimulating working atmosphere. The positions are
immediately available for a period of 3 years.
Applications please address until December 15,
2006 to Prof. A. Heuer via [log in to unmask]
