**apologies for cross postings - sent on behalf of Eric Herbst**
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher in theoretical
astrochemistry at The Ohio State University to work with Eric Herbst
in one of the following projects: (i) use of chemical models to
simulate the chemistry of interstellar sources, especially those
related to star formation, (ii) the study of chemical processes on
the surfaces of interstellar dust particles, especially by stochastic
techniques, and (iii) the study of other chemical and physical
processes of relevance to the formation and depletion of interstellar
molecules.
Candidates should have obtained by the starting date a Ph. D. in
chemistry, physics, or astronomy in an area relevant to the research
described here. Candidates interested in the observation of
interstellar molecules are also welcome to apply although it is
expected that their main focus of work will be in theoretical studies.
The appointment is for one year renewable for a second year, and
could start as early as October 2006. To apply, please send a
curriculum vitae, statement of research interests, and two letters of
reference to: Eric Herbst, Department of Physics, The Ohio State
University, 191 W. Woodruff Ave., Columbus, OH 43210-1107, USA. Ohio
State is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. Women,
minorities, veterans, and disabled persons are encouraged to apply.
