Dear Amy,
Am delighted to hear your area of interest. I just completed a pilot
study looking at home labors and births that pushed the limits of the
partogram, as you all call it, and the Freidman curve, as we call it
here is the US. One of the most essential elements in a 'normal' or
progressive labor is the contraction pattern, i.e., the power of the
process, but it is a factor we do not consider, at least here in New
York City. Will be interested in hearing how you choose to develop
your research.
