The Imperial War Museum is looking to recruit an individual for the
following post in its Department of Collections Management. This post will
also be advertised in The Guardian newspaper and the CILIP journal.
Documentation Manager
London - £28,300 - £35,375 per annum (pay award pending)
The post holder will be the Museum’s lead operational person on the project
to select, transfer data to and implement a Collection, Digital Asset and
Library Management System(s) across the Museum’s branches.
The overall purpose of the post is to develop and oversee implementation
of the Museum’s Documentation Strategy and to ensure the creation and
maintenance of consistent collections data, whether generated through
collections management or curatorial functions, to agreed standards across
the Museum.
The successful candidate will have two years experience in an information
management role in a Museum, Library or Archive. During this time they
will have overseen the transfer of data from multiple sources to a single
system.
The candidate will demonstrate the interpersonal and information management
skills to deliver the Museum’s data management strategies.
