The ultimate challenge facing us all is to ensure technology provides
solutions not problems - ALPSP technology updates offer practical
information and advice on the implementation of recent innovations in
learned and professional publishing.
COST-EFFECTIVE CONTENT MANAGEMENT
London, Thursday 9 February (0930 - 1300)
<http://www.alpsp.org/events/2006/TUC/default.htm>
http://www.alpsp.org/events/2006/TUC/default.htm
(Jointly organised by the Association of Learned and Professional Society
Publishers and <http://www.bsg.co.uk/> BSG)
Content Management systems have come down in price and industry standards
mean publishers do not face being 'locked in' to a specific vendor and
proprietary format. Whether you publish journals, magazines, directories or
books, you need to be aware of and able to evaluate the benefits of a
structured approach to publishing information.
Is it worth the investment? Is it simply a cost-saving tool or are there
revenue benefits as well? Are there standard procedures to follow? The
speakers will present a series of case studies and there will be plenty of
time for questions.
Who should attend: This update is designed for middle and senior management
whose primary focus may not be in technical areas but who need to evaluate
the relevance of content management for their company.
