At Northwestern, at least for the present, we generally have separate
records--not only for different formats (i.e., digital vs.
non-digital), but for different digital vendors. If we get the same
on-line monograph from both ebrary and NetLibrary, we have two
records. (If we have something in both microform and print,
sometimes we have a combined record, sometimes we have 2
records.) Slightly different for serials, because the records we
load for the electronic version arrive already with all the different
sources combined into a single record; but we still generally have
separate records for paper (or paper+microform) and electronic
versions. (The actual picture is, of course, slightly less tidy than
this brief description might suggest.)
No matter what, it would certainly be nice if Voyager had a FRBR-like
feature that could combine the different "versions" into a single
record for OPAC display...
