Dear Colleagues (apologies for cross-posting)

The CURL/SCONUL Task Force on E-Research was set up earlier this year with a number of objectives including:
1.To raise awareness and understanding of the issues associated with support of e-research in CURL and SCONUL member libraries and to stimulate discussion about them at institutional level.
2.To position CURL and SCONUL member libraries' staffs to engage with their local e-research stakeholders and to encourage them to make appropriate inputs at the research proposal stage.
3.To identify skills gaps in relation to support of e-research and to assist member libraries in addressing them.
How does e-research impact on the library and information community, is library support limited to archiving the data created during the research process, is it the library's role to do this, do we have the skills to do it, what else should we be doing? The Task force wants your views on these and other questions and has set up a mailing list to stimulate discussion and disseminate information.
You can join by going to http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/E-RESEARCH-LIBRARYSUPPORT
Or by emailing [log in to unmask] the message join e-research-librarysupport firstname surname
