knowledge Harvesting - capturing and transferring knowledge from those who

have it, to those who need it.

Knowledge harvesting is a KM technique that traditionally focuses on the

capture and transfer of an individual's tacit knowledge into a more explicit

format that can then be used by others. This knowledge transfer is often

completed when an individual is about to leave an organisation (exit

interview), but can also be applied to those joining (induction) or moving

(promotion) within an organisation, and at times of team/project building

and re-structuring.

This masterclass focuses on a holistic approach to knowledge harvesting and

considers the links and overlaps with other KM related activities.

Speaker: Ian Wooler

Dates: 9th February 2006

Masterclass fee: £495 + VAT (£581.63) including refreshments and a buffet

lunch.

transforming customer care in information services: foundation programme

*Also available as an in-house course

Ever been into a shop and felt the assistant didn't care about you. Or been

on the phone and thought the other person wasn't really listening to what

you needed. Did you recommend the company or service to others afterwards

or did you tell people about the awful customer service. For most of us

it's the latter and yet it's acknowledged that valuing and caring for your

customers is fundamental to the department's growth and long term future.

This one day workshop gives you practical advice on providing truly

transformational customer care. You'll learn how to attract the right

customers, develop ways of diffusing potential problems and revisit some

fundamental customer principles in the light of your new knowledge.

Speaker: Ruth Sanderson

Date: 10 Feb

course fee: £295.00 + VAT (£346.63) includes buffet lunch and refreshments.
