Librarian
This key post in a leading teaching and research department is responsible
for running the department library. You must be familiar with a range of
computer applications including information retrieval via the Web and
databases, and database management. Experience in web authoring would be an
advantage. An ability to organise and present information effectively in
printed and electronic formats is essential.
Library experience (preferably in an academic or ‘special’ library) is
required, including collection management, budget management, assisting
with reader enquiries and cataloguing principles and practice. A helpful
attitude and good interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to
work alone whilst remaining part of a close-knit team. According to
experience, the appointment will be on the University Librarian Grade C
scale, which currently ranges from £20,004 to £24,352. Enquiries about the
