Hi
Many thanks for those who replied to my query re: PBL and librarian
involvement. As per usual, the replies were very interesting.
Several links were suggested, including
http://www.ex.ac.uk/undergraduate/degrees/medicine/medicine.shtml
http://discovery.rp.edu.sg/home/CED/
www.ee.ucl.ac.uk/~jsmith/PBLIS
Several librarians were greatly involved and use of the VLE as part of
the library's involvement was common (which would really help in our
situation) e.g. in DCU Library here in Ireland and also in
Strathclyde, although the person creating the content wasn't a
librarian - she was a lecturer who always had an interest in
information literacy)
One or two librarians also took the opportunity to roll out
information literacy sessions to other library uses, so PBL would
appear to give you great flexibility in terms of the design of your
sessions
Many thanks
Valerie
