Your chance to win £50!
Glasgow University Archive Services is pleased to announce the launch of the
new, improved Gateway to Archives of Scottish Higher Education (GASHE)
website (<http://www.gashe.ac.uk/>), the culmination of an Arts and
Humanities Research Council funded project.
GASHE is an online gateway to descriptions of the records about Scotland's
colleges and universities. Educationalists and sociologists will find these
resources of immense value. Topics which Professor Maria Slowey (Vice Dean
(Research), Faculty of Education, University of Glasgow) has highlighted for
exploration in these collections are: school to work transitions;
non-traditional students; access to higher education; social change;
boundaries between academic disciplines; development of occupational and
educational aspirations; peer pressure; student drop transfer of knowledge;
student society; education, community and industry; entrance profiles and
standards; curriculum development; student health; local and national
government education policy, overseas development.
A crucial part of the project is to find out what researchers think of the
site. I would be very grateful, therefore, if you could spare a few minutes
to look at the site (<http://www.gashe.ac.uk/>) and let me know what you
think by filling in the feedback form (available via a link at the top of
every page). All comments will feed into a report, which will be published
in March.
As an added incentive, all those filling in a feedback form will be entered
into a raffle with one lucky person winning a £50 book token!
Please could I ask for comments to be returned by 20th February?
Many thanks.
