Subject: 22nd November - Best Information > Best Research> Best Health (Conference)
Best Information > Best Research> Best Health
Wednesday 22nd November 2006, [10.15 - 15.45]
University of Leicester
Best Research for Best Health, the national health research strategy (Goal 4
- Manage our knowledge resources) - reaffirms that knowledge and information management are central to both the production and consumption of research.
Generalist library and information services across the UK have a major role to play in ensuring that "research knowledge is made readily available to professionals in the service, researchers and the public". Specialist information units support the entire research process from identifying a researchable question, through locating and obtaining funding, reviewing the literature and on to producing and disseminating research findings.
How might health information professionals organise themselves to face these new challenges and opportunities? What services might be required? What examples of best practice are already available throughout the UK?
This one-day conference will provide a forum for these and many other related issues. Thanks to generous sponsorship from the Trent Research and Development Support Unit, delegates will enjoy a subsidised rate of £ 40.
