Hello All,

Further to Andrews offer of sharing experiences, West Suffolk College are a UK trial site for a
Siemens HiPath 3800 VOIP system, which replaced an expensive to maintain Index system.

There were certainly several issues to iron out prior to installation, and making sure your
existing network is capable of reliably taking voice traffic is essential. We are just about to
expand our CRM system which links Goldmine to the Siemens system - pretty cutting edge for a
college apparently!

I was involved with the planning and implementation from the beginning, and am happy to discuss
the issues and ongoing experienced with anyone considering VOIP.

Regards

Adrian Hales

Dear Andrew

Thank you for making the offer of sharing your experience on VOIP with colleagues in the
region. I hope that others will make contact as appropriate -especially as there is a number of
new builds going on and VOIP has been seen as a solution by various HE & FE institutions around
the UK.

Thanks again - Gerard Hayes, Manager JISC RSC Eastern
