The Institute for Geosciences in the Faculty of
Mathematical and Natural Sciences at
the Christian Albrechts University of Kiel
(Germany) wishes to fill the following position
as soon as possible:
W3 Professor for Marine Geology
(Successor to Prof. Dr. P. Stoffers)
We seek an internationally-recognised scientist
active in the fields of Marine Geochemistry
and/or Marine Hydrocarbon and Mineral Resources. The applicant is expected
to have broad experience in the development and application of inorganic or
organic geochemistry to studies of the interplay
between marine and terrestrial material
cycles. Participation in the network of Kiel researchers "Ozean der Zukunft"
(www.ozean-der-zukunft.de or www.future-ocean.de) is explicitly desired.
The successful applicant will represent the field
of Marine Geochemistry in research
and teaching and contribute lectures, hands-on
field training and excursions within
the existing program of study. Active
participation in future Bachelor and Master
Programs,
which will be conducted partly in English, is expected.
The applicant must have the German Habilitation
or be able to demonstrate equivalent
qualifications and adequate teaching experience.
The ability to develop a strong
third party funding profile for marine research projects is essential.
The Christian-Albrechts University is seeking to
