Hello again,
I seem to have fixed the problem by deleting the three files below,
and then rebuilding; not sure where the weird depend.mk files came
from though...
extras/src/libgd/depend.mk
extras/src/libgdc/depend.mk
extras/src/libpng/depend.mk
