Hi Isabel,
Just finally getting around to doing stuff in the office after a really
hectic month! As requested at the last meeting, I've added you to the
OASIS-USERS mailing list...you may have received a few messages last
week but otherwise the list has been (thankfully) quiet. I've also had a
quick look over the FISH website and it seems to need quite a few
updates, do you know who's responsible for running the website? The main
thing here is to take William and Catherine off the list of Contributing
Organisations and replace with myself.
I'll start redrafting the info paper that Catherine prepared to fit in
with what we discussed at the meeting, I'm only in the office for two
days next week but should be able to produce something by the end of the
following week.
Do you know if the minutes from the last meeting are available anywhere
(I'm not sure if I've missed an email)? I've got about eight actions
noted down to do but I just wanted to check this against something more
reliable!
Re. XML authoring as discussed earlier, the AHDS have produced an
information paper on XML tools which is available here:
http://www.ahds.ac.uk/creating/information-papers/xml-editors/index.htm
In terms of tutorials and other resources on actually authoring XML,
there's quite a number out there but a good one to start with would be
that available via http://www.w3schools.com/ as this also covers the
associated elements of XML (XSLTs etc) in separate tutorials. Webmonkey
also have a basic (and quite old) one here:
http://www.webmonkey.com/webmonkey/98/41/index1a.html?tw=authoring
I hope that helps but let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks,
Kieron
