Colleagues,
Many aspects of the implementation of ICT in schools/colleges in the UK are
a success but some are not. The evidence of the benefits is mixed. It is
time for a number of the more difficult issues about the current position
and the way ahead to be discussed more openly.
"The Digital Environment for Education - Obvious Propositions and
Contentious Issues" is a discussion Conference to do this - in London on
Tuesday 10th Oct 06.
The E.E.P., as a neutral, inclusive and non-profit organisation is providing
a platform for a wide range of high-level speakers to present and discuss
their concerns and views. There will also be plenty of time to hear
contributions from participants in the audience.
The attached doc outlines the areas of discussion. There are further details
on the event, speakers, the propositions to be discussed and the issues they
raise at http://www.eep-edu.org.
If you would like to attend this conference, to listen or to present your
views, please use the booking form which is also on the website.
All participants in the event will receive the conference pre-discussion
papers, based on the series of invitation meetings held in the Spring that
identified issues of concern, and all will have an opportunity to contribute
to the conference output.
Please copy this message on if you feel others would be interested.
And as this conference is only 4 weeks away please book as soon as possible
if you want to be there.
Regards
Roger.
