Benjy the Binman! You have one of those too?!
Just to let you know though, that I know of a few people (so there are bound
to be more) that scour landfill sites looking for HD's and the like, and
they take them away and see what they can find. They don't actually intend
any malice, it seems to be some weird sort of hobby.
As an aside, I bought a PC from auction several years ago that turned out to
have about 2000 Marks and Spencer employee's data on it in a DBF file. This
was about 1993 I think, so all I ended up doing was reformatting the disk
before selling it on - DPA wasn't much to shout about back then!!!!
Simon.

I recall that when I worked in the NHS last year there were some machines
that were being returned to the manufacturer and there was some software
that was used to presumably write rubbish on the whole HD before being
returned.
I have two old HD's which I don't use any more. I have got rid of all the
other kit so that I can't even use them now. I don't have an Aga.
They are not taking up much space but I don't want to get rid of them
because they have all my personal correspondence on, job applications etc,
and I might just as well let Benjy the Binman loose on it.
