How about including a third option... Neither but data controllers fail to
use any common sense?

I've got one -

"Which has a more detrimental effect on members of the public; data
protection law being applied too stringently or too leniently?"

Sounds good and I will willingly donate some Friday time any such surveys.

With regards to surveys in general I have this shocking announcement to
make:

66% of Americans believe that Martin Luther King is their next door
neighbour.

========================
"How ridiculous" I hear you say.

The sample size was 3, and the average age of said sample was 5 years old.

I think that is an excellent idea. We should certainly try it! I think
they should be short duration (a single week as you suggest).

We should probably have only one "list topic" survey running at a time?

It's worth queuing them up - we can add a new survey at any time, we just
choose when to make them active and when they close.

Each of us as mods is able to create a survey and to make it active. I
don't think the membership is able to, though. Impossible to tell coz I
have big boy's privileges, and can't pretend to be a regular member.

I have a few minutes to set this one up if you like, and we can run it for a
week now.

To add a bit of fun to the list, how about a regular survey with the topic
being suggested by members.

For example, 'For how many people have DP as their full-time job, as part of
their job, when they can fit it in, when they have to.

It could run for just a week, but could produce some interesting results.

Any other suggestions ?
