A specific session of the workshop will be dedicated to tool
demonstrations of prototype tools of some of the accepted papers.
PAST EVENTS, DURATION, AND WORKSHOP FORMAT
This will be the 4th instance of this workshop and each time it was
co-located with CAiSE. The number of participants was always around
15-25. We expect about the same number of participants for 2006.
The duration will again be two days.
The workshop will feature an invited talk and short paper
presentations followed by intensive discussion: 3 presentations per
session, each 15 min, and each session to have 45 min of discussion.
Furthermore, one half day will be devoted to research tool
demonstrations. We are also considering to have breakout sessions on
3-4 topics to intensify discussions and networking among participants.
WORKSHOP PROCEEDINGS
UMICS 2004 proceedings, for example, were published as Springer LNCS
proceedings and a special issue of selected papers was published in
the ACM/Springer journal "Personal and Ubiquitous Systems".
For UMICS 2006, the workshop proceedings shall be published within
the CAiSE workshop proceedings. It is further planned, that selected
papers will be also considered for publication as a special issue of
an international journal.
