How far can Governments go in combatting Terrorism???
The answer of Germany´s Supreme Court in the aftermath of 9/11: German
Law is void!
****************************************************************************
German Constitutional Court, Decision from February 15, 2006:
The German Aviation Security Act authorizing Federal Government to order
the armed forces to shoot down aircraft that are intended to be used as
weapons in crimes against human lives, is incompatible with the German
Constitution (Basic Law) and hence void.

Dear colleagues,
at least some of you may be interested in that decision which can also
be used as an example for discussing victims´ rights.
The German Aviation Security Act was deliberatly designed to prevent
possible acts in Germany like the 9/11 Twin Towers terrorist attack in
New York. The press release is fortunately also available in English,
and rather comprehensive in delineating the main issues of the Court
holdings.
The full decision can be accessed from the press release URL. However, I
guess that this full decision may only be available in German language.
Best regards,
Hans-J. Kerner
