In the BUGS user manual's "New-sampling: specifying a
new sampling distribution" section,
1. why "zeros[i] <- 0" ?
Isn't this conflicting with the next line:
"zeros[i] ~ dpois(phi[i])"
2. Why is the 1/sqrt(2*pi) missing in the line:
" phi[i] <- log(sigma[1]) + 0.5 *
pow((x[i]-mu[1])/sigma[1],2) "
Shouldn't it be
" phi[i] <- log(sigma[1] * sqrt(2*pi)) + 0.5 *
pow((x[i]-mu[1])/sigma[1],2) "
Thanks!
