I've been blundering around trying to find a workable set of tools to
go between R and WinBUGS in Linux systems. I was trying the R package
"rbugs" with OpenBUGS-2.1.1 version of winbugs.exe under wine and I
kept having the run "hang" after opening the GUI from OpenBUGS. It
just stopped, no errors, nothing in the log file.
After I got WinBUGS14, I found that rbugs did run and I learned how it
was saving text files in the working directory and then using a script
file to drive the run in WinBUGS.
So I Opened OpenBUGS under wine in Linux and opened a script that
worked in WinBUGS. When I use the menu Model | Script in OpenBUGS,
nothing happens. There is no error, just nothing?
I'm going to fiddle with BRugs build in Linux to see if I can make
that work. Until then, rbugs with WinBUGS14.exe is my only working
alternative.
