I said nothing about poetry. I was talking about postmodernism as a
cultural phenomenon and a feeling I had one evening that perhaps the
culture at large was about to shift directions. I never said a
turning away from postmodernism would mean there could be no more
poetry, or anything like it.
If, back in the day, I had said that there would be "no poetry after
Auschwitz" I would have been wrong. If I had said WW2, Auschwitz,
etc., were watershed events for the culture I would have been correct,
or so it seems to me.

As evidenced in my previous post, I don't.
