Members of the listserv may be interested in a new book, "Ethics,
Accountability and Recordkeeping in a Dangerous World", by Richard Cox.
Published last month, the book explores issues relating to evidence,
accountability, democracy and trust, and examines their implications for
the professional ethics of recordkeeping. It is intended to help and
encourage archivists and records managers to reconsider the ethical
dimensions of their work. It has a foreword by Sarah Tyacke and is
published by Facet. For more information see

"Ethics, Accountability and Recordkeeping" is the first title in a new
series of professional texts for records managers and archivists, published
by Facet under the series title "Principles and Practice in Records
Management and Archives". The authors will come from different parts of the
English-speaking world. Some volumes in the series will address theoretical
and strategic issues; others will have a practical focus and offer guidance
on effective ways of managing records and archives and presenting them to
users.
The second volume in the series will be "Preserving Archives", by Helen
Forde. Available next month, this will be the first comprehensive text on
archive preservation to be published in the UK.
